As with other organs of the body, antioxidant activity, particularly glutathione plays a vital role in the kidneys. The kidneys are not unique in that oxidative stress, resulting from free radical activity, leads to problems of various kinds.

Dr. Jimmy Gutman, a bestselling author and internationally acclaimed glutathione expert explained in his book, "The GSH Hankbook" that, one cause of renal toxicity and kidney failure is exposure to heavy metals such as mercury, cadmium and lead.  The body detoxifies these substances principally through Glutathione (GSH) related enzymes. Glutathione molecules bind themselves to these metals by the process of chelation, after which they are easily and safely removed from the body.

He also said that, GSH (glutathione) plays important roles in the prevention and treatment of renal failure, the anemia that often accompanies kidney failure and dialysis, and the cardiovascular complications of kidney disease.

Dr Jimmy Gutman also noted that, many pharmaceutical drugs have been implicated in kidney failure.  Such common medications as ibuprofen, acetaminophen and even vitamin D put a high demand on the kidneys, and can damage them. Research indicates that elevated antioxidant defenses help protect the body from cyclosporin toxicity. The most common cause of poor blood flow is atherosclerosis the build-up of plaque and other blockages in blood vessels.  While GSH detoxifies pharmaceutical drugs and heavy metals, and fights such threats as polycystic kidney disease, it also fights plaque formation by inhibiting lipid peroxidation.

By acting as both a detoxifier and antioxidant, glutathione prevented lipid peroxidation (which is the oxidation of lipids or fats by free radicals) in the kidneys and other organs. Studies show that the treatment increasing intracellular glutathione levels led to marked improvement in kidney function. This is because, glutathione is involved in many processes in the body, including tissue building and repair, making chemicals and proteins needed in the body, and for the immune system.

Dr Jimmy Gutman also stated that renal failure patients suffer from a profound imbalance of oxidants and antioxidants that grows worse as the kidney fails –and dialysis only compounds the problem.  In spite of t heir   life-saving action, peritoneal dialysis and especially hemodialysis worsen this aspect of kidney malfunction by increasing oxidative stress levels.  Because dialysis is not optional for these patients, its side-effects must be addressed. Some researchers think that dialysis damages the anti-oxidant system and leads to a dramatic fall in levels of the GSH enzymes that protect us from lipid peroxidation.

There is plenty of evidence to show that antioxidant support might benefit these patients. A strong link between kidney function and glutathione availability has been identified.  This has led some scientists to suggest that glutathione peroxidase levels may prove to be a yardstick of kidney function. To test this hypothesis, elderly patients undergoing continuous peritoneal dialysis were studied to determine two things–nutritional status and oxidative stress levels.  The former was measured by their ability to absorb and process certain nutrients, especially serum albumin and iron.

Test results were well below normal.  As for antioxidant defenses, glutathione peroxidase levels were even lower. It is clear that the ability of kidney patients to fight oxidation is profoundly and progressively compromised.  Oxidative stress left unchallenged leads to untold damage. To get a clearer picture of the process, the cells of the peritoneal membrane of peritoneal dialysis patients were examined.  Researchers found that when the patients were exposed to the life-saving dialysate fluid, GSH levels fell significantly.

The link between GSH status and oxidative stress in dialysis patients is not only widely accepted, it is also considered highly significant.  In patients with renal failure oxidative stress damages the circulating red blood cells (erythrocytes) causing low hemoglobin levels (anemia).  This damage is normally kept to a minimum by glutathione –the principal antioxidant in this struggle.  GSH acts on the surface of the wall of the red blood cell to preserve its integrity.

Since hemodialysis causes significant oxidative changes and damages red blood cells, it is important that patients undergoing this procedure maintain high GSH levels. Cellgevity, the only medical product that contains Riboceine, has been proven to effectively raise glutathione, even up to 300%.

Unlike other Prescription Drugs that treats the Symptoms of Kidney Diseases, CELLGEVITY ATTACKS THE ROOT CAUSE OF EVERY DISEASE by raising your glutathione level and when this happens, your body will naturally heal itself. For people who have experienced Cellgevity they will tell you that it works just like a miracle.

Glutathione is comprised of 3 amino acids - glutamic acid, glycine and cysteine. We can get adequate amounts of glutamic acid and glycine from our diets but cysteine has always been the limiting factor.

Many health practitioners know about this and that is why, for years, medical scientists have been in persistent search for ways to effectively deliver cysteine direct into the body cells. In some cases it is injected into the body cells through intravenous means but this is very rigorous and so expensive.

At one time, N-acetylcysteine (NAC) was the only supplement available to enhance the body's supply of cysteine to enable the production of glutathione. However, Dr. Herbert T. Nagasawa was able to develop a revolutionary molecule known as RIBOCEINE that effectively delivers cysteine to the cell to support the natural production of glutathione, for which Max International was awarded a U.S. Patent.

RiboCeine is a unique molecule that combines ribose (sugar) and cysteine, nutrients that occur naturally in our bodies.  Riboceine is simply d-ribose and l-cysteine combined.

Cysteine, as you may already know, is an amino acid which is necessary for the production of glutathione. WITHOUT ENOUGH CYSTEINE, YOUR BODY CANNOT MAKE ADEQUATE GLUTATHIONE. One of the challenges with cysteine is that it’s extremely fragile, as stated above, so, it needs to be protected in order to survive the acids produced by our digestive system. You can say, kind of like needing an eggshell to protect the precious life contained inside it.

Normally if you just take cysteine directly, without something to protect the sulfhydryl group, the sulfhydryl group is destroyed during the digestive process. So you no longer end up with cysteine that can be used to make glutathione. By hiding cysteine inside ribose Nagasawa achieved a ground breaking scientific technology for getting cysteine to go through the digestive process intact.

What this means is that, once you ingest a capsule of CELLGEVITY, the RiboCeine inside of it will be absorbed and then enters the bloodstream and delivers cysteine and ribose to the cells. This will provide your body cells with the natural ingredients it needs to endogenously produce its own glutathione.

RiboCeine is a product of 25years of extensive research and twenty-two scientific studies funded by the American government through their National Institutes of Health and other scientific funding agencies and published in peer-reviewed journals.

RiboCeine significantly outperformed other means of glutathione enhancement against which it has been tested. This is not hype but facts that you can verify on your own.
